The Parlour Brooklyn’s Kristin Jones specializes in color and distinctive cuts for all types of hair. Jones began her artistic voyage at the Alchemy Salon in Florida where she spent eight years perfecting her craft as a stylist. In 2008, Jones came to New York and spent six months at the Arrojo Studio. Jones trained at Bumble & Bumble, Wella and Vidal Sassoon Academy in London before coming to The Parlour Brooklyn where she has been for the last three years. Jones is known for her covetable razor cuts, classic men’s cuts and as a curly girl herself, can concoct the perfect styling solution for all kinds of of unruly curls. “I wouldn’t say I love one more than the other, but I will say I do a lot of color—all kinds. I also cut a ton of curly hair and can manipulate straight hair into being wavy, just by working with the natural texture. I’m big on easy hair, natural texture and minimal styling—but that doesn’t mean if you walk in wanting neon, flat ironed hair I will talk you out of it; I like that too.” Kristen’s ever-changing personal style reflects her appreciation for her great loves of her youth: Stevie Nicks, The Golden Girls, 90’s grunge, R&B and she admits, her middle school art teacher. She co-owns the vintage store, Miracles, where she finds much of her inspiration for the looks she creates. Jones’ foremost passion is hair and educating the next generation of emerging stylists in The Parlour Brooklyn. “I went through an intense apprenticeship program at Alchemy and enjoy sharing what I learned and what I continue to learn every day.”

"I enjoy listening and collaborating with my clients about their hair. By exchanging ideas, we can effectively make it a joint effort. My goal is to make it as easy as possible for my clients to style their hair, so keeping the hair as close to it's natural state is key."
